History

Mac Sign Company was founded in 1956 by Harold McGinnis, who originated in Marlborough, MA.

Mac Signs was started in a small barn in Fayetteville, NC, where it began building, designing and installing simple truck lettering to large lighted commercial signage.  As time went on Mac Signs began to grow and so did its need for a larger facility.  Mac Sign Company moved throughout the years until a state of the art facility was built in 1976.

During the spring of 1958, the helm of Mac Signs was turned over to Robert McGinnis (Harold's Son) upon his retirement from the US Navy.  Although Robert was now at the helm, Harold still played an active part in running Mac Signs until his death in 1970.

During the fall of 76 constructions on the new facility began.  The current facility is housed in a 15,000 sq. ft. manufacturing bay, and a 4,000 sq. ft. office area. A full overhead crane system and a state of the art paint booth were added to the new facility.  A full vacuum forming system for lighted faces was added along with multiple state of the art equipment which turned Mac Sign Company into the largest most efficient sign manufacturing facility in the state of North Carolina.

As time went on Mac Sign continued to grow servicing many national accounts from service to manufacturing.  In the beginning of 2003 negotiations between Bob McGinnis (Mac Signs) and Kevin Agostinho & Larry Fatone (Visual Designs Inc.) began for the purchase of the company.

On October 13, 2005 the contracts were signed and ownership of Mac Sign Company, Inc was turned over to Kevin Agostinho & Larry Fatone.

With the merger of Mac Signs and Visual Designs Inc., a new state of the art computer based design system and full vinyl division including full digital printing capabilities was added to the company.

Kevin is originally from New Bedford, MA. and is a graduate of Butera School of Art in Boston, MA. for sign painting. Kevin has over 12 years of experience in the sign industry and has many years knowledge in sign design, vinyl graphics, and lighted signs.

Larry who is originally from Anaheim, CA and has over 15 years of experience in the sign industry, and has many years of experience in sign design, vinyl graphics, neon signage, and sign service.

Robert McGinnis is still an active part of the Mac team, specializing in sales and consult assisting Kevin & Larry with his many years of knowledge and experience.

Mike Bryan began working with Mac Sign Company in 1981. For over 25 years, Mike has dedicated himself to our company. He has an extensive knowledge of fabrication, installation and sign services. Having made a wonderful and valuable contribution and career here at Mac Signs, Mike has exhibited top-quality work and focus on team-building.
